Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark got her eighth technical foul of the season on Saturday. That means if the WNBA doesn't rescind the call, she'll get an automatic one-game suspension from the league.
Clark almost made it through the game without getting a technical. She got slapped with the violation with just over a minute left in the third quarter of the Fever's game against the Chicago Sky.
As Clark was dribbling under the basket, Natasha Cloud bumped into her, making her lose control of the ball and go out of bounds. From there, Clark bumped into a referee and was slapped with a technical foul.
The Fever pulled off a win on the road, 90-86, against the Sky. But, now they could be without Clark for one game.

"(The official) said I ran into her," Clark said during her postgame interview with the media. "I've already watched it on the tape, so we'll let the league decide, but it wasn't intentional or anything. So, I'm hoping it's getting rescinded.”
Fever head coach Stephanie White, who also got a technical for arguing the call and apparently having some choice words directed at the referee, spoke her mind after the game.
"That's a bad call," White said. "Incidental contact when you're flying out of control. And I thought (the officials') teammates should have come up and talked to her about that, as well."
She added, "I think that's really bad. That ... happens all the time in the game. Officials have to have some awareness in those moments and it didn't happen."
Per the WNBA's official rules, a player or coach is automatically given a one-game suspension after getting their eighth technical foul during the regular season. From there, every two additional technical fouls during the regular season will add on another one-game suspension. But, the Fever are appealing. If that appeal is successful, Clark won't have to miss a game, yet.

A spokesman said that when they told me #Fever star Caitlin Clark’s technical foul “was not rescinded,” that was the information they were working with at the time.
Now, they say the appeal is ongoing. No final decision just yet. Statement below. https://t.co/SXKbZ6Ple1 pic.twitter.com/mbwLUQpbVv
