Chiefs have one obvious reason to think this season won't be like last

Last season wasn't the best for the Kansas City Chiefs. Okay, it was downright horrible. For another franchise, it may have been acceptable or at least expected, but not for a franchise that's been to the Super Bowl numerous times in the past few years and won them, too.

The Chiefs missed the playoffs last season and were 6-11. But, head coach Andy Reid is back, and so is tight end Travis Kelce and an almost 100% healthy Patrick Mahomes. So, things are looking up.

More than anything, there's one reason Chiefs Kingdom should be confident going into this fresh season. There's one big difference when it comes to this team this season.

Chiefs have a familiar face back on offense

In a feature out on Friday, Moe Moton of Bleacher Report names one reason each NFL team's fanbase should be hopeful about this coming season. "Of course, every fanbase would like to see their team hoist the Lombardi Trophy on February 14 next year at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, but what factors could contribute to that happening?" he asks.

For the Chiefs, it's all about their new, but familiar, offensive coordinator.

"The Chiefs ranked 15th in scoring in each of their first two seasons after Eric Bieniemy's 2023 departure, making his return as offensive coordinator a potential catalyst for improvement," he states.

It's a great point that this offense shined under Bieniemy. Having him back will be huge.

The Denver Broncos were No. 1 in the AFC West last season, and Moton notes in the piece that the team has an "elite-level starting offensive line" this season, with Garett Bolles, Quinn Meinerz and Jaylen Waddle. That's something to watch, but they don't have Bieniemy.
