For better or worse, Caitlin Clark has become one of the most influential athletes in recent history.
She's drawn thousands of eyeballs to the WNBA, and while she may not always get the recognition for that, the numbers just don't lie.
That's why, watching her game, personality, and rise, sports analyst Colin Cowherd used a combination of three NBA legends to describe her.
Speaking to fellow Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham, Cowherd claimed that Clark had Michael Jordan's ascension, Stephen Curry's game, and Larry Bird's personality. While Cunningham agreed with the first two, she thinks her teammate isn't as harsh as the Boston Celtics legend.
“No, I don't think you are. I think that Larry Bird honestly might have a little bit more sass. Caitlin is just her own, her own personality, like especially off the court, like she is strictly basketball,” Cunningham said.
While there have been plenty of assumptions about Clark, she's always tried to keep her personal life private, much like Jordan did back in the day.
That has also led to some criticism, just as it did for the Chicago Bulls legend at the time.
But, according to Cunningham, that's all a misconception, and she's just another chill girl when she's not talking smack and hitting threes on the court:
“She loves to sit on the couch. She loves (to) watch TV, she's very simple. It's been a blessing that she has been in our league. I think the talent has always been there in our league, but just like the eyes and the platform and how she's transforming our game… she has done so much for our sport right now. And I don't know why people are so reluctant to give her her flowers,” Cunningham continued.

Clark is marching strong as one of the leading WNBA MVP candidates while also suiting up for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup.
And, to her credit, she's not looking to be the next Larry Bird or what have you.
She's just the first Caitlin Clark.
