Kids who will be playing on Sundays: Ole Miss' Trinidad Chambliss looks like 'franchise QB' in potential Heisman moment vs. LSU

"Trinidad Chambliss is a franchise QB, and should (and believe he will) be drafted early like franchise QBs are," wrote Shirners Bowl director of football operations/player personnel Eric Galko.

The Ringer's Todd McShay would agree. In his September mock draft, he has Chambliss going No. 3 overall to the Arizona Cardinals. His draft stock will keep skyrocketing if he leads the Rebels to a 4-0 start on the road against the Florida Gators (3-0) next Saturday (ABC, 3:30 p.m. ET).

Iowa State Cyclones  sophomore RB Aiden Flora

Tankathon doesn't list Flora on its big board. The site may need to update it after his career day against the Bowling Green Falcons. In a 55-7 Iowa State win, the RB tallied 296 all-purpose yards (194 rushing, 10 receiving, and 92 punt return) and scored three TDs (two rushing, one punt return). That included a 66-yard punt-return TD just before the midway point of the third quarter.

Flora, a former walk-on, mainly served as a return specialist in 2025, so he needs to produce more tape at RB to prove he's more than a gadget guy. He should have plenty of opportunities to do that. New Iowa State HC Jimmy Rogers plans to lean heavily on the 2-1 Cyclones ground attack next Saturday against the No. 17 Utah Utes (3-0) at 3:30 p.m. ET on Fox. 

"It's kind of what we've seen at times in practice," Rogers said, via the Associated Press. "It's what we believe we can do. We're going to have some tougher games coming up, and we've got to be able to strain for some of those yards. They may not come as easy at times. I was happy to see the body of work come together and the effort we preach."

Louisville Cardinals senior defensive lineman Clev Lubin 

The Cardinals offense, led by Ohio State Buckeyes transfer QB Lincoln Kienholz, is getting more attention, but let's not overlook Lubin's impact. Through three games, the 6-foot-3, 260-pounder leads No. 23 Louisville (2-1) in forced fumbles (two) and has tied with Tyler Thompson for the team lead in sacks (1.5). Both of those came in a 41-31 home win over the No. 16 SMU Mustangs (2-1) on Saturday.

"[Lubin's] game has some Matt Judon qualities in that they're both compact, powerful, urgent, and capable of affecting the quarterback in multiple ways," wrote McShay in his Sunday morning scouting notes. "I'm encouraged that the production is beginning to match what has shown on tape." 

If Lubin continues to play like four-time Pro Bowler Judon, he'll be on the radar of more NFL teams. Tankathon lists him as edge- rusher No. 9 on its big board. 

Vanderbilt Commodores senior WR Junior Sherrill

Sherrill and true freshman QB Jared Curtis appeared to form instant chemistry in Vanderbilt's stunning 35-31 win over the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Saturday. He caught six passes for 108 yards and two TDs, including a 43-yarder to cut the deficit to 31-27 with 6:18 in the fourth quarter.  

Sherrill (5-foot-11, 200 pounds) lacks the ideal frame for an NFL wideout, but his productivity makes him a potential mid-round option. After Week 3, the Vanderbilt star ranks fourth in the SEC in receiving yards (272 on 15 receptions). 

Pro Football Network's scouting department noted that Sherrill becoming a "quality starter" in the NFL is "in the cards" for the pass-catcher. 

BYU Cougars  senior RB LJ Martin 

BYU senior linebacker Cade Uluave told CBS Sports' Jordan Giorgio that Martin is the "best running back in the country" after watching him run for 176 yards and three TDs on 15 carries in a 41-23 win over the Colorado State Rams.

Florida senior RB Jadan Baugh, whom Yardbarker featured in Week 1, would disagree, but Martin certainly belongs in the same conversation. After Week 3, the BYU star ranks 10th in the FBS in rushing yards (328 on 42 carries). Baugh, meanwhile, ranks second (458 yards on 54 carries).

Like Baugh (6-foot-1, 225 pounds), Martin's powerful running style is tailor-made for the NFL. 

"A bigger back at [6-foot-1, 226 pounds], Martin doesn't have sprinter speed, but his run balance and instincts will translate really well to the pro game," wrote The Athletic's Dane Brugler in a story published Sunday morning.
