Pete Crow-Armstrong makes more Cubs history in win over Reds

Chicago Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong continues to be a massive threat on the basepaths, as he recorded his ninth game with a home run and a stolen base.

Crow-Armstrong's MVP-level performance helped the team record the series victory against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. The Cubs slugger went 3-for-5 with a home run, a stolen base (38), a double and two RBI in the team's 9-1 victory.

His 45th home run has now tied Kyle Schwarber for the MLB home run lead. But Crow-Armstrong is also on pace to join the 40-40 club with eight games remaining in the regular season for him to record two more stolen bases.

The team continues to hold the top NL wild-card spot, and with Crow-Armstrong's remarkable season, he's destined to be a huge threat in the upcoming postseason.

Pete Crow-Armstrong has shown no signs of slowing down

Crow-Armstrong has collected 107 RBI this season, which ranks third in MLB, along with a 157 wRC+ and a 10.2 fWAR. His 10.2 league-leading fWAR also surpasses his prior milestone of reaching a 10 fWAR in early September.

In addition, Crow-Armstrong has made Cubs history with the most home runs in a season by a player aged 24 or younger.

The NL MVP favourite has recorded seven multi-home-run games, including one three-home-run game and hitting for the cycle on June 15 against the Colorado Rockies.

The Cubs outfielder has continued to make history, as he is also the first center fielder in MLB history to record 10-plus home runs, with 30-plus stolen bases in a single season.
