Quarterback Jaxson Dart wasn't the only noteworthy New York Giants player who went down with injury during the club's 28-6 loss at the Los Angeles Rams (1-1) on Monday night.
Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers suffered what initially seemed to be a significant right shoulder injury in the game's second quarter. He ultimately returned to the field later that same period, and he spoke about his setback after the game.
"My shoulder is OK," Nabers insisted, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN. "I'm going to get an X-ray on it to see what is going on. But when I was out there, we had just lost [Dart], so I didn't want to give the team another loss. So I went back in. Just tried to see what I can do."
Nabers suffered a torn ACL and torn meniscus on Sept. 28, 2025, but he more recently tallied six receptions for 69 yards in the Giants' 28-20 Week 1 win over the rival Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 13. Last week, he acknowledged that he is still "rusty" as he works to reclaim his best form.
Against the Rams, Nabers recorded just one catch for a single yard on four targets.
Giants pass-rusher Brian Burns, who has yet to record a sack this season, left the stadium in a boot and needed a golf cart to get to the team buses after he suffered a low ankle sprain late in the loss to the Rams. As noted by John Flanigan of SNY, it's unclear whether Burns will play for the 1-1 Giants when they host the 0-2 Tennessee Titans on Sept. 27.
"It eased my mind to know it wasn't anything serious," Burns said about his injury after Monday's loss. "I've dealt with this. It depends on how fast you get the swelling and inflammation down. So I'm going to do everything possible to get this as tamed as I can."
Dart suffered a sprained MCL on Monday and reportedly will miss a minimum of two games. Meanwhile, Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas is now dealing with a groin injury. Thomas' status for the Titans game was unknown as of early Tuesday morning.
DraftKings Sportsbook had the walking-wounded Giants as 3.5-point home favorites against the Titans.
