Florida's Jon Sumrall throws shade at Auburn after win at Jordan-Hare Stadium

There was a ton of heat between the Auburn Tigers and Florida Gators heading into their Week 3 contest.

New Florida head coach Jon Sumrall had plenty of ties to the Tigers, and new Auburn head coach Alex Golesh had no intention of playing nice in both of their respective first SEC matchups.

Ultimately, Sumrall and the Gators came away with a 44-39 win that wasn't as close as the final score made it look. 

The Gators went up 41-24 early in the fourth, and they were never really in danger. They added three more with 2:53 to go, which made Auburn's touchdown and point-after attempt with 24 seconds to go on the clock performative, at best.

It was a huge win for Florida, now 3-0 and ranked No. 21 in the nation, and Sumrall and the Gators seem to be feeling themselves a bit.

While speaking on "The Brandon Walker Football Show" on Tuesday, Sumrall looked ahead to Florida's Week 4 opponent, the No. 4 Ole Miss Rebels, by looking back just a bit at Auburn and taking a jab at the Tigers.

He believes "The Swamp" is going to be rocking for this huge SEC matchup between two ranked teams. Heck, in his estimation, Gainesville was louder for Florida's Week 1 matchup with FAU than Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium was last weekend.

“Full disclosure, our FAU game blew me away. Opening game. Our FAU game, the crowd, I felt was livelier than what we played in Saturday night,” Sumrall said (h/t On3). "So, I can only imagine what that’s gonna feel like when you bring a top-five team into this place. Ole Miss is a really good football team. I have a lot of confidence our fanbase is going to have a lot of impact on the game.”
