Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles suffered a frustrating loss back in Week 5 in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It turned out there was much more to the story than just the game itself.
It was revealed that Hurts was dealing with a superficial blood clot in his leg. Then came this week's update that Hurts is now out for the season as blood clots have been found in his lungs.
The story took a bizarre turn when news broke that Hurts did not sleep the night before the London game. NFL insider Albert Breer did some digging and shared how unorthodox such advice would be.
Breer apparently spoke to some doctors and was told the advice Hurts reportedly got did not make traditional medical sense.
Perhaps the biggest disconnect on the Jalen Hurts situation—the question of sleep. No doctor I’ve talked to has said he or she would recommend not sleeping to someone with a superficial clot. Some went so far as to say that even suggesting that makes no sense.

Breer explained he could not find one doctor who would tell someone to avoid sleep with a superficial blood clot.
This story has taken several turns as the initial reporting of no sleep was dismissed as false by Hurts' agent, who claims he slept and was well rested before the game.
The good news in this situation is that Hurts is expected to make a full recovery as he begins treatment for the clots with blood thinners.
It has also been revealed that the Eagles will not face any sort of punishment from the NFL based on the handling of Hurts' medical situation.
NFL insiders like Breer are still trying to connect all the dots and figure out what is true and what is false. Ultimately, Hurts is out for the season and the Eagles may be headed for a rough finish in 2026.
