Happy Thanksgiving, skiers.
We hope you're taking time today to relax, enjoy copious amounts of food, and share time with loves ones. If not, then hopefully you're skiing. We wouldn't blame you for that.
All of us here at POWDER are grateful for you, our beloved readers, for making our jobs a possibility. In truth, none of us would be able to brag about working at The Skier's Magazine if nobody read The Skier's Magazine. That isn't lost on us.
On that note, in an effort to peel back the digital curtain and connect with you, our beloved reader, I asked each member of the daily POWDER staff to share a bit about themselves and what they're thankful for this year.
I will note that POWDER, both online and in print, is made from a wide-ranging roster of talented writers, columnists, reporters, photographers, videographers, and more. They are not featured here in this article, but deserve endless credit.
So, for those folks (you know who you are), from the bottom of this skier's heart—thank you. Thank you for lending your work to this funny little magazine that Jake and Dave Moe started back in '72. We're endlessly grateful.
Please keep reading for more from POWDER's daily staff, and thank you again for supporting us at POWDER Magazine. Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

Favorite Mountain: Smugglers' Notch, Vermont
Best song for a skiing playlist: I don't listen to music while I ski, but Bam Bam by Sister Nancy is a banger.
If you could change one thing about skiing, what would it be? Wicket tickets. Bring 'em back. I miss my collection dangling from my jacket.
This year I'm thankful for... the collective shaming of backpack speakers on chairlifts, ski runs, lodges, trails, etc. It's working. It's Powder to the People, not Your Shitty Music to the People, after all.
About: Matt currently lives in Truckee, California chasing Sierra cement. His goals this season are to tick off more lines at Palisades Tahoe and to avoid injuries, despite his friend's best efforts. Maybe he'll try his first backflip, but don't hold him to it, he tends to back out of dares. Self-described as "just a skier who likes to talk about skiing", Matt is living his dream as Senior Editor of POWDER.

Favorite mountain: Jackson Hole/The Tetons, Wyoming
Best song for a skiing playlist: Hot take, I don't like to listen to music while skiing, but I'd vibe to some Marlon Funaki on a pow day.
If you could change one thing about skiing, what would it be? Skiing is too damn expensive and luxury-focused. Let's keep skiing about skiing!
This year I'm thankful for... the unmatched feeling of skiing a new-to-me zone for the first time. You can only ski a run for the first time once!
About: Max calls the sunny side of the Tetons home, and even after nearly a decade, is continuously blown away that he’s still finding new places to ski in the range. This season, he’s excited to show his friends around his neck of the woods, and maybe this will be the year he finally finds his perfect ski boot.

Favorite mountain: Crystal Mountain, Washington
Best song for a skiing playlist: Walking Wires by High Vis
If you could change one thing about skiing, what would it be? That my feet would never hurt.
This year I'm thankful for… family, dear friends, skiing (or just walking) in the sun.
About: Ian no longer lives in ski country and misses it. He’s still trying to figure out what being a skier means.

Favorite mountain: Winter Park, Colorado
Best song for a skiing playlist: Paper Planes by M.I.A.
If you could change one thing about skiing, what would it be? How much climate change affects it! More pow days forever, please!
This year I'm thankful for... still being excited to go skiing every day, the return of baggy outerwear, my favorite new bootfitter, girls ski trips, my chosen family, and my truck still running 245k miles later.
About: After too many years of crying in the backcountry while trying to keep up with her friends, crying in the club while trying to date ski bums, and crying in general while trying to find stable housing, Izzy fled the Tetons and moved to the driest, flattest part of the PNW. Now, she mostly cries while trying to find adult ski boots for her child-sized feet or when she has to leave her cat to go on cool ski trips. When she’s not crying, you can find her skiing moguls, biking unadvisable distances on gravel roads, or shooting photos.

Best song for a skiing playlist: Tropics by My Morning Jacket.
If you could change one thing about skiing, what would it be? Lower snow levels.
This year I'm thankful for… family, friends, and semi-healthy knees.
About: Today, as POWDER’s Director of Photography, Dave is globally recognized throughout the action sports and outdoor adventure realm for his visual aesthetic. For over three decades, he has driven the visual narrative of POWDER’s premium content, along with a 20-year stint as the founding photo editor at our sister title, BIKE.
Favorite mountain:Alta Ski Area, Utah
Best song for a skiing playlist: Desert Raven by Jonathan Wilson.
If you could change one thing about skiing, what would it be? More camper-van-specific parking. Yeah, that’d be real nice.
This year I'm thankful for… how well a PB&J ages in the pocket of my bibs.
About: Beny currently lives full-time in his camper van, based (roughly) out of Southern California. His goals this season are simple: ski three times a week and somehow stay warm in the van, which can be a tall task. He’s known as the guy always dipping in and out of the stash off the side of the groomer, but he’s hoping to score more fresh tracks this year. A self-declared media jockey who’s perpetually fighting his troll instincts, Beny mans the social keys at POWDER.
