The Tahoe Games is returning to the Lake Tahoe area this fall for two days of music, art, sports demos and competitions. While ski season might be a ways out, the festival is taking full advantage of the shoulder season to bring as many sports together as they can.

The Tahoe Games will help Sierra at Tahoe kick off the winter 2025/26 ski season with several on-snow events. Despite taking place in September, Sierra at Tahoe has promised real snow for an invite-only rail jam. From September 27-28, 2025, the Lake Tahoe Amphitheater will be transformed into 'full blown freestyle playground,' according to a social media post from the festival.

The Rail Jam will take place during the festival and feature an TBA invite-only roster of the best local skiers and snowboarders. Spectators can watch this urban style jam session up close and cheer on their favorite riders, who will be competing for up to $500 in cash prizes. Following the Rail Jam, a mini-sled hill with tubes will be open to the public to take advantage of some mysterious and magical early season snow.

Interactive activities, demos, and challenges will all act as fundraising opportunities for The Smaine Fund. The Smaine Fund provides support and assistance to up-and-coming outdoor sports athletes through career development, education, brand building, and community impact. It was started in memory of Tahoe local Kyle Smaine, who tragically passed away in an avalanche in 2023.

In addition to the Rail Jam, a pro MTB big air competition will take place on a custom built course as riders like Brayden Barrett-Hay, Greggy Watts, Ryan McNulty, Nicholai Rogatkin, and more will compete for a $15k cash prize.

The festival will also feature a vendor village, food trucks, morning yoga sessions, and live music throughout the weekend. Entry to the festival is free to the public.
