Would you rather spend that extra cash on your next ski trip, but still have some last-minute gift shopping to do? Turns out that happens to me every year. I get caught up in early-season powder turns, resort openings, and stoke about snowfall that October turns to the end of December quite quickly.

But, fret not. Here’s my take on the best stocking stuffer gifts for skiers, that not only will let you buy another lift ticket for yourself, but will certainly put a smile on whoever is on the receiving end's face. It's really too bad you can't just gift everyone on your list a powder day. There’s everything from light reading material like POWDER’s 2025 Photo Annual, a cookbook for skiers, to our new favorite portable backcountry snack, all the way to skiing-related accessories we’d put on our own wishlists.

Outdoor Tech Raven Wireless Earbuds

Audio is important, whether you’re lapping the resort solo and jamming to your favorite tunes, catching up on your favorite podcast on the bus to the mountain, or stuck in a video meeting with your boss while you’d rather be farming turns. Outdoor Tech’s Raven wireless bluetooth earbuds are the solution to all your wireless audio needs. They feature up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge–plus the case can re-charge them another four times before you need to plug them back in. The sound quality rivals that of much more expensive headphones, and they offer tap controls to connect with and control your smartphone. Oh yeah, and if you lose them, you can replace them two more times before adding up to the cost of a set of Airpods.

Sole Performance Insoles

Supporting your arches inside your ski boots is paramount to comfortable feet on the hill. Even if, actually especially if, you only ski a few days a year, the easiest way to help support your feet is with an aftermarket footbed. If you’re looking for the utmost customization and don’t mind spending a pretty penny, head to a reputable bootfitter and get a custom insole made. If that’s outside your price range, consider a cork insole from SOLE. Our favorite from testing a whole slew of these last year was the SOLE Performance Thin, which actually molds to your foot after a few days of riding much the same way a more expensive footbed would. Pop a pair of these into your ski boots and ski happily all season long.

POWDER 2025 Photo Annual

Bringing POWDER back to print was one of our proudest moments this year. So much so that we did it twice. After releasing our Not Another Gear Guide, we went back to our storytelling and photo sharing roots with the 2025 Photo Annual featuring this year’s finest ski photography. Featuring the largest editorial package ever presented in a POWDER issue, the mag is anchored by a massive gallery of unrivaled ski photography from across the globe. Plus, read about perhaps the most impressive second descent ever recorded, the Finnish crew that is redefining urban skiing on the streets of Helsinki, a skier and his mom coming to terms with the risky lifestyle she introduced to him, and how Whitefish, Montana has forsaken the mega pass to keep its character intact.

NEVE Food

It’s always nice to get an edible treat in your stocking, and we’re not going to stop you from filling whomever’s with holiday cookies (or coal…), but instead of candy bars we’re head over heels about NEVE these days. What’s that, might you ask? It’s real food, in an incredibly portable squeeze bottle package, ready to fuel you on the skintrack. If you’re sick of Clif Bars, GUs and other science food, but still want to fuel efficiently in the mountains, NEVE is the answer. Created by a Colorado-based backcountry skier and mountain biker, NEVE is a plant-based blend of fruits and vegetables crafted for athletes in collaboration with a registered dietitian. It tastes like real food (because it is), has 190 calories a pack, and each one weighs about 4 oz. Fuel up.

Beyond Skid: A Cookbook For Ski Bums

I’m going to shamelessly plug my own cookbook here because I want all skiers to eat better. If you or someone you know identifies as a skid (a “ski bum,” for those who aren’t from the Tetons), this book is designed expressly for you. With recipes ranging from quick breakfast burritos to hearty dinners like Chili, Ramen, or Schnitzel, and everything in between, Beyond Skid: A Cookbook For Ski Bums is there to help you elevate your culinary game, on a realistic mountain-town budget. Give the gift of knowledge, and who knows, maybe you’ll be invited over for dinner some day soon.

Skida Hat

In case you weren't aware, skiing is meant to be fun, and part of that fun is expressing yourself with bright colors and fun patterns. Skida has that on lock with their vast array of hats, beanies, neck tubes and balaclavas, plus apparel and dog accessories. In other words, there’s basically never a time where you can’t be wearing one of their patterns. Even the US Ski Team has caught the bug, so give the gift of fun (and comfort) this winter. Hey guys, trust me on this one, the lady in your life will love this–but get one for yourself too. Ladies? Treat yourself, but don’t forget that us dudes love ourselves a comfy neck tube too.

Patagonia Balaclava

I’ve found that the best headwear layering underneath a ski helmet is definitely still the trusty balaclava. There’s no bunching, there’s full coverage to keep you warm, and it looks sleek under your helmet and goggles. Patagonia’s Balaclava is built from their super cozy and warm, quick-wicking Capilene Thermal Weight fabric, stitched with flat seams to stop chafing. The hinged opening allows it to be worn multiple ways to adjust for conditions.

SNÜX Overboots

Cold feet suck, and that’s why SNÜX Overboots exist. Strap these graphene-infused neoprene boot covers around your ski boots, and you’ll have warmer feet within minutes. Unlike electric boot heaters or heated socks, the SNÜX Overboot doesn’t require remembering to charge batteries or serious boot modifications to install cables and heating elements. The SNÜX Overboot comes in nine different colors, and is designed to work with most alpine and touring boots in all sizes. With some adjustment, it will fit over standard forefoot buckles or a BOA system.

Titan Straps Ski Straps

Backcountry gear failures can absolutely ruin your day, but there aren’t many that can’t be fixed with some clever MacGyvering and the help of a ski strap. Titan Straps make the burliest ones we’ve found, and come in a huge variety of lengths and colors to suit your needs. Use one of these to strap your skis together, keep a few of these in your ski pack, and you’ll be ready to deal with anything from a broken boot or ski binding to splinting a backcountry injury. Come summer, these are a great tool to strap a repair kit and a tube to your mountain bike.

Smartwool Socks

The final piece to the puzzle of warm, comfortable ski boots is your sock choice. Without a doubt, merino wool socks are your best bet, balancing comfort, warmth and moisture-wicking performance. Smartwool Socks have long been tester favorites here at POWDER, and that hasn’t changed this year. We’ve been a big fan of their over-the-calf style socks with targeted cushioning meaning there’s extra padding on sensitive areas like your shin and heel area to improve fit and performance in a ski boot. These socks are also made with Smartwool’s Indestructawool tech, meaning they will keep your feet happy season after season.
