YES Snowboards has undergone several transformations since its inception in 2008. Now, in April 2026, it will take the next step forward and transition out from underneath the Nidecker umbrella.

The news was revealed in a story published by Board Sport Source late last week. The rider-founded brand will transition to the majority ownership of co-founders Romain De Marchi and JP Solberg as a standalone company. Fellow co-founder David Carrier Porcheron will stay on as an ambassador of the brand.

A spokesperson for the Nidecker Group confirmed the report on October 14, 2025.

This will be the second big change for the brand in four years. The first came in 2024, when it absorbed the brands NOW Bindings and Lobster, which was founded by Eiki and Halldór Helgason.

The Nidecker Group will operate YES for this upcoming season, and be in charge of providing support to shops, distributors, and partners, the report from Board Sport Source says. Nidecker will continue to support YES even after the exit by licensing FASE and Skatetech technology for its bindings, as well as back-office support.

“#YES is the first brand we started with riders, and it set the foundation for what has become the Nidecker Group – a family of rider-driven brands built on the same spirit of collaboration and innovation,” Henry Nidecker, CEO, said to Board Sport Source. “We are proud of the role the Nidecker Group has played in helping the brand grow, and we thank the founders for trusting us throughout all these years. This next chapter enables them to carry forward their vision, and we fully support them through the transition and into the future.”

The decision was reportedly mutual. YES will focus on snowboards and bindings, going forward, and it will be bringing back the UnInc line, which provides an upgraded version of a pre-existing board shape. YES will focus on a direct-to-consumer model at first, with some local shops getting product. YES will be focused on shops in Europe at first.

“Right now the market is in a full innovation explosion with the arrival of FASE. So we will probably see a good year for bindings,” the management team toldBoard Sport Source in an interview. “That should impact demand for both boards and boots. People don’t always change their whole setup in one go. We think the next few years will see the directional segment grow and a return to classical shapes with less disruptive edges or camber profiles.”

YES has set itself up for success by having one of the most robust and versatile teams in snowboarding. Led by Helgason and Fridtjof Tischendorf (aka Fridge), Utah based ripper Pat Fava and Canadian Olympic hopeful Liam Brearley both joined the team in 2024. Dustin Craven, Colton Carroll, and Hrund Hanna Thor also ride for YES.
