After Messi, Jordi Alba Out Injured – What Happened to the Inter Miami Star?

Messi had been dealing with a right-leg hamstring problem that forced him off just 11 minutes into the group-stage game against Necaxa on August 2. He returned in the MLS win over LA Galaxy ,  scoring a goal and assisting a nother ,  but wasn’t 100% and was ruled out against Tigres.

Jordi Alba’s Injury Update

JordiAlba’s injury came after a collision with teammate Telasco Segovia late in the first half. He finished the half with a limp but couldn’t continue into the second, leaving the field in the 47th minute.

Interim head coach Javier Morales confirmed the substitution and Inter Miami said Alba’s condition will be evaluated over the next few days to determine the severity and recovery time.

Despite the injuries, Inter Miami won 2–1 against Tigres, with Luis Suárez scoring two penalties.

The game was also wild off the pitch: coach Javier Mascherano was given a red card at halftime for protesting the referee’s decision to add extra time. Mascherano was later seen talking to his assistant from the stands, which is against the rules.

With LionelMessi and Jordi Alba out, Inter Miami will have to adjust fast for the semifinals. Noah Allen will likely play left-back and Suárez will have to carry even more of the load up front.
