Malo Gusto is being linked with moves away from Chelsea and a potential reunion with Enzo Maresca at Man City.
Former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, who left Stamford Bridge in January after 18 months in charge of the Blues, is about to be appointed as Man City boss.
That will create all sorts of links to his former charges at Chelsea, and we’re already seeing talk about interest in the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella.
Today we can add a new name to the list – Malo Gusto. TeamTalk today report that Bayern and Man City have “made enquiries” about Gusto after being “alerted to the possibility that the Chelsea full back could become available this summer.”
“[Maresca] believes Gusto possesses the technical and tactical attributes required to thrive within his system and has maintained a strong appreciation for the player,” the report concludes.
Still just 23, Gusto has had some ups and downs since his transfer from Lyon for £30.7m. We can imagine there would be teams interested were we to try and sell him. But Bayern and City? We’re not so sure.
Matheus Fernandes is going to be a top target for a number of Premier League teams this summer after showing what he can do for a relegated West Ham team. Chelsea have been linked.
Meanwhile, Chelsea would love to pay for Fernandes by selling someone like Liam Delap, who did not have a promising first season at the club.
