Brentford boss Thomas Frank says Leicester City deserved Saturday's 1-1 draw.

Mathias Jensen's first-half goal was cancelled out by Harvey Barnes' chipped effort just after half-time.

And Frank stated that it was a 'top-quality moment' that saw the visitors take a point from the game at the Gtech Community Stadium.

I felt we came out really well with very good energy and we put pressure on Leicester, created chances, opportunities and produced the goal that you need to potentially win a football match," the Bees boss said.

Then we wanted to keep going, that was the message second half and, unfortunately, they produced one moment.

I actually felt that we were still on top in the first six minutes, and then they produced that one moment that we needed to handle... I don't want to say better - I think it's a top-quality moment from Maddison and Barnes.

That was 1-1 and then it felt like we couldn't go again. We tried, the players worked hard, I can't put anything on the work effort but, unfortunately, we didn't have the top offensive quality."

Jensen scored his fifth goal of the season against Leicester, after his strike from inside the box was deflected past Daniel Iversen in the Foxes goal.

The Danish midfielder has nine goal contributions this campaign and Frank gave his reasoning as to why his countryman has been in such good form this term.

Mathi is a very good player - he's been brilliant for us throughout his stay at Brentford," said Frank.

Last season he had a very disruptive season - small injuries, I think he had Covid, I think he was ill all that got him out of rhythm.

And, this season, he came back in a top place and he's just that carried on from there."

When asked why he was taken off, he added: He felt something around the hip, but it's nothing worrying. He should be available for the Danish national team."
