Bruno Fernandes’ stance on Saudi Pro League move in summer 2026 surfaces

Bruno Fernandes has made it clear that he has no intention of leaving Manchester United in 2026, despite growing speculation about his future.

In the summer of 2025, Fernandes drew significant interest from the Saudi Pro League. Al-Hilal offered him a substantial financial deal, but he turned down the opportunity to leave United.

There’s a belief that another approach could come his way next year, but early signs suggest he plans to decline again.

Fernandes set on staying

Bruno Fernandes has no interest in leaving Manchester United for the Saudi Pro League in 2026, according to BBC Sport.

The 31-year-old is only interested in playing in a top European league, but he isn’t thinking about a move away from United.

Fernandes is completely focused on helping United finish as high as possible this season and secure European qualification for the 2026/27 campaign.

He’s currently with Portugal and expected to play a key role for them at the World Cup this summer. Despite a challenging season with Manchester United, Fernandes remains an important part of his national team setup, earning his spot through consistent performances over the years.

Fernandes’ attention where it should be

As captain of Manchester United, it serves neither Bruno Fernandes nor the club to dwell on the possibility of a move next summer at this stage.

Should Fernandes play a part in guiding United back into Europe, he may find additional reasons to remain at Old Trafford.

The scenario shifts if United come up short again. That could lead Fernandes to reconsider his position. He’s under contract until 2027, with an option for another year beyond that.

Right now, there’s little noise around Fernandes outside of Saudi interest, but it’s still early in the campaign. If he were put on the market, interest would likely pick up quickly.

Manchester United are expected to make significant changes in midfield next summer with Casemiro out of contract.

There have been suggestions that Fernandes could also be moved as part of that rebuild. Whether Ineos decides to act may depend on financial factors, though manager Ruben Amorim is known to value him highly.
