Casemiro agrees to join Inter Miami

It’s been known for some time that Casemiro has been preparing to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, however his new club is now a step closer.

The veteran midfielder confirmed earlier this year that he would not be renewing a contract with Manchester United and this would be his final year with the club.

Now, Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte has reported that Casemiro has agreed to join Inter Miami in the MLS after the 2026 World Cup.

The 34-year-old is set to captain the Brazil tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico this summer, giving American fans a front row view of the soon-to-be MLS star.

It’s understood that, as well as a major increase to his £36 million a year salary, the midfielder is also set to have bonuses for titles and a share of merchandise profits.

His salary alone is set to exceed £70 million per season, with any products using his image also giving him a cut of the profits in a model being used by the MLS to attract international talent.

The report explains that the agreement has come after a series of face-to-face meetings, with Casemiro having regularly been seen in Miami, casting assumptions of Sir David Beckham’s side being his next club.

With an agreement now in place, it seemingly ends the speculation over when Casemiro will be playing next, after being linked with moves to the MLS and Saudi Arabia.

However, Manchester United still have him for their remaining six games as they look to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.

Thankfully for United fans, Casemiro’s final year with the club has seen him in unstoppable form, scoring a career best of eight goals so far, and not looking like he’s about to stop.
