Champions League legend Casemiro has been vital in Manchester United‘s resurgence this season, proving he is not finished. And because of that, if he leaves the Red Devils this summer, he could be interested in joining another top European club.

According to a new report from Samuel Luckhurst of The Sun, Casemiro has been telling people in his camp that he wants to continue competing at the highest level of European football after the 2025/26 Premier League season ends.

Instead of moving on to the Saudi Pro League or MLS after the campaign, Case wants to stay in European football, and sources close to Luckhurst and the player have informed the journalist that Serie A could be a landing spot for the defensive midfielder, citing his former Real Madrid midfield teammate Luka Modric’s success at AC Milan as an example he could follow.

Only the best teams in Italy would attract Casemiro at this stage. Inter Milan probably have no use for him, but Antonio Conte and Napoli have been going after former Premier League standouts, including veterans like Kevin De Bruyne and former Manchester United players Romelu Lukaku, Scott McTominay, and Rasmus Hojlund.

Then there are AC Milan and Juventus, the two most historic clubs in Italy who are in need of a shot of leadership to get back into the Scudetto battle with Inter. These clubs are not afraid to make a splash.

So Casemiro, by joining a top team in Italy, could become Man United’s opponents in the Champions League or Europa League next season, depending on where he lands and how Man United finish in the Premier League.

Or, better yet, Man United may be seeing these reports and feel more heat to keep their main leader after Bruno Fernandes in midfield, especially if he’d be open to reduced wages to stay at Old Trafford and become an icon there.
