Celtic have confirmed a huge milestone in the construction of a new facility at Barrowfield. The development is envisaged to help the club’s production of talent in both the men’s and women’s youth teams as well as Elena Sadiku‘s first team.

The club shared images of the roof being erected, which is a major milestone in the development. The development will include two 11s pitches outside as well as an 11s indoor pitch, state-of-the-art gym and fitness facilities, lavish lit-up changing areas, medical suites for player treatment and rehab as well as sport science and analysis centres.

Sadiku, whose side are top of the SWPL, says that the new training base aligns with the club’s vision to be the best in Scotland.

“Here at Celtic, we always strive for excellence both on and off the pitch,” she said. “The redevelopment of Barrowfield aligns perfectly with our ambition to be the top club in Scotland.

“As we witness the emergence of talents like Chloe Craig and Maria McAneny from Celtic’s Academy system on to the main stage, our ambitions are set even higher.”

The development of the training centre is on course to be completed in November.
