Cristiano Ronaldo officially sells forward to Portsmouth

Cristiano Ronaldo has officially sanctioned another important move away from the pitch.

The former Manchester United star has remained in the headlines following following Portugal’s Round of 16 exit at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

After the defeat to Spain, Ronaldo confirmed it had been his final World Cup.

However, he later made it clear he has not yet retired from international football.

Earlier this year, Ronaldo completed the purchase of a 25 per cent stake in UD Almeria.

Since then, several important decisions have already been made ahead of the new campaign.

Another one has now been officially confirmed.

UD Almeria have officially confirmed on the club’s website that striker Marko Milovanovic has completed a permanent transfer to Portsmouth.

The Serbian forward joined Almeria ahead of the 2022/23 season and spent three years with the Spanish side.

Last season, he impressed during a loan spell with Portuguese club FC Alverca.

Milovanovic scored nine goals in Portugal’s top flight before earning a move to EFL Championship side Portsmouth.

Almeria thanked the striker for his professionalism and commitment throughout his time at the club before wishing him success in England.

The departure comes during another busy summer for Ronaldo’s club.

Almeria have already strengthened their squad by securing experienced goalkeeper and club captain Fernando Martinez on a new contract until 2027, ensuring one of their key leaders remains part of the project.

Now, Milovanovic has become the latest player to leave as preparations continue for the 2026/27 season.

With arrivals and departures continuing, Ronaldo’s club are pressing ahead with their long-term plans before the transfer window closes.

The move will also give Milovanovic the opportunity to test himself in English football.

Portsmouth will hope his recent form in Portugal can help strengthen their attacking options as they prepare for another demanding Championship campaign.
