Djed Spence offered to Manchester United

Djed Spence is preparing for next season with Tottenham Hotspur currently but could be on his way to Manchester United.

The England international, who impressed at the World Cup alongside United left-winger Marcus Rashford, made 30 Premier League appearances last season for Spurs.

Spence, formerly of Genoa and Leeds United, made a further 14 appearances across other competitions including the Champions League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup.

Manchester United’s full-back situation is complex with the club aiming to sign someone before the transfer window closes at the start of September.

Lewis Hall has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford with some reports suggesting that the club were ready to meet Newcastle United’s asking price although no official agreement has been reached yet.

Jorge Salinas has also named by reports as a possible option although Manchester United have not launched their pursuit of the 19-year-old yet.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has now stated that Djed Spence has been offered to both Manchester United and Liverpool.

Jacobs, speaking on The United Stand YouTube channel, also revealed that Spence wants regular playing time whilst stating that it is unclear currently whether United actually want him.

With an offer made and several players on the table, Manchester United now face a choice. Just under four weeks of the transfer window remain and time is running out for the club to make their move.

Plenty of time remains, certainly, and panic is not the number one option currently, too.

Spence offers Premier League and international tournament experience, two essential qualities for success in the English top flight.

United now must decide whether a move for the former Leeds United man is the right one. That decision will dictate whether the club sign him or not.
