Cagliari are finalising a deal to sign Italy international Michael Folorunsho on loan with an option to buy from Napoli.

Serie A side Cagliari are on the verge of securing an agreement to sign versatile Italian midfielder Folorunsho from Napoli.

Folorunsho set to join Cagliari from Napoli

The ex-Hellas Verona star spent the second part of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Fiorentina.

Football Italia exclusively reported negotiations between Cagliari and Napoli on July 5, and the two clubs are now nearing an agreement.

Napoli and Cagliari are finalising the details of an initial loan deal with an option to purchase.

Cagliari will become Folorunsho’s 4th Serie A club

Folorunsho, 27, has scored five goals and provided one assist in 54 Serie A appearances with Verona, Napoli, and Fiorentina.

Folorunsho was part of the Italy squad that took part in Euro 2024 last summer and has made two senior appearances with the Azzurri so far in his career.

Cagliari secured Serie A survival under Davide Nicola last summer, but have appointed the debutant Fabio Pisacane as their new coach for 2025-26.
