He is broken: Barcelona star suffers a serious injury

Barcelona's Marc Casado, on loan at Deportivo La Coruna, was forced off after just half an hour of his side's clash with Real Betis, having suffered a heavy shoulder injury.

His setback lands at a rotten time for Barcelona. Andreas Christensen picked up an injury to the quadriceps muscle of his left thigh against Sevilla on Saturday, in the seventh round of La Liga, while goalkeeper Juan Garcia damaged the meniscus of his right knee in the fixture against Racing Santander.

According to Sport newspaper, Casado landed badly after colliding with Real Betis player Marc Roca, sparking immediate concern.

Clearly in pain, Casado left the pitch and Diego Villares came on in his place.

The early signs are anything but reassuring. After the collision, Casado was heard telling his team's doctors "it's broken" in reference to his collarbone, pointing to his right shoulder and asking to be taken off straight away.

He had played his first matches for the club in the thrilling win over Villarreal at the La Ceramica stadium, before making his first start in the draw with Getafe.

Now Deportivo must wait for the medical examinations and the club's report to reveal the exact severity of Casado's shoulder injury.
