As reported by Opta, Inter’s 5-0 loss against PSG is the single-game final with the highest goal margin between the two teams.

Inter lost 5-0 to PSG in the 2025 Champions League Final on Saturday, finishing the 2024-25 campaign without trophies.

As reported by Opta, the defeat in Munich is the biggest ever loss in a major European tournament.

“In the history of Major European competitions, PSG-Inter is the single-game final with the highest goal margin between the two teams (five goals). Differences,” Opta wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Ex-Inter defender Achraf Hakimi opened the account after just 12 minutes in Munich tonight, and Desiré Doué doubled the score at minute 20.

Ex-Serie A and West Ham striker Paolo Di Canio was highly critical of Inter during the half-time break, saying that the Nerazzurri’s performance had been unacceptable, incomprehensible and intolerable.

However, the second-half performance was perhaps even more disappointing as the Ligue 1 giants scored three more goals, leaving Inter with the biggest loss in a major European final.

Inter will return to the pitch in just a few days, as the Nerazzurri are one of the Serie A clubs representing Serie A in the Club World Cup.
