The relationship between Simone Inzaghi and Davide Frattesi could be beyond repair at Inter Milan after Saturday’s loss to PSG.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the coach tried to smooth things over, but Frattesi’s anger remains.

Reportedly, Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi lost his temper with his coach Simone Inzaghi during the Champions League final.

The 25-year-old was an unused substitute in that match. This despite the fact that Inter had been 2-0 down at halftime, and clearly in need of a change.

Is Inzaghi Frattesi Relationship At Inter Beyond Repair After UCL Final?

Frattesi’s complaints about his lack of playing time at Inter have been an ongoing theme this season. Reportedly, the Italian international had already pushed to leave in January.

Inzaghi has often turned to Frattesi as an impact sub rather than a starter. But he didn’t even give the former Sassuolo midfielder that chance against PSG.

Frattesi did not hold back during the match. He angrily asked his coach why he was not on the pitch.

Inzaghi tried to explain to Frattesi that injuries had forced his hand. The unexpected injury to Yann Bisseck just a few minutes after coming on required the coach to use a substitution slot.

Then, a problem for Hakan Calhanoglu meant that Kristjan Asllani came on.

Nevertheless, Tuttosport report, Davide Frattesi remains angry about not playing. This might really be the end of the road for him.

Certainly, it looks as though Frattesi won’t want to play under Inzaghi any longer. But on the other hand, it could be a different story if Inzaghi leaves.
