Alessandro Bastoni admits that the 5-0 Champions League final loss to PSG is a “tough loss to accept” for Inter Milan.
The Italian international gave a heartfelt message on his Instagram page apologizing to Nerazzurri fans for the defeat.
Inter Milan did not just lose to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

It was an absolutely crushing defeat. They shipped five goals without reply in the biggest match of the season.
This was quite a different match than the 2023 final, in which Inter had went toe-to-toe with Manchester City but still lost.
There was a clear and massive gulf on the pitch between Inter and Paris Saint-Germain.
This meant that the Nerazzurri ended up not just finishing the season trophyless, but leaving an entirely different impression than the last time they were in the Champions League final – that they did not belong there.
Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni writes, “It’s tough — this is not the ending we had imagined.
A painful defeat, one that leaves a deep sense of bitterness and will take time to fully understand.
We are disappointed, first and foremost in ourselves.
Because we know how much this achievement meant to our team, to the club. And to all the fans who supported us with passion every step of the way.
Now more than ever, we know how important it is to feel you by our side.
We’ll keep fighting and writing new chapters of our story.”
