James Forrest has had a remarkable few weeks becoming the most decorated player in Celtic’s history and picking up a special recognition at the club’s Player of the Year Awards…
However there is still one personal target remaining for our legendary one-club man in the remaining few games of this campaign, and that is to open his goal account for this season.
Jamesy holds the remarkable distinction of scoring in every single campaign since making his first team debut 15 years ago.
He’s so far failed to find the net in this campaign not helped by the fact he spent a few months on the treatment table, but there’s still time for him to keep that superb record going and every single Celtic supporter is willing him to do just that hopefully starting tonight at Pittodrie against Aberdeen, an opponent Jamesy has a great scoring record against.
Jamesy has achieved so much at the club and to keep this record going will be another feather in his cap. It’s fair to say that we will all be Jamsie Forrest these next few games. If he gets his goal Jamesy will match the Maestro Paul McStay’s record and will have a full season next time around to beat it.
You get the feeling he is going to do it tonight and Brendan is almost certain to start The Prestwick Pele at Pittodrie. If Celtic get a penalty then there’s only one player taking it.
Jamesy is one of only a few players who have scored over 100 goals for Celtic and had over 100 assists. Also on that list are Lisbon Lion and the player voted Celtic ‘s Greater Ever Celt Jimmy Johnstone and also The King of Kings Henrik Larsson. Jamesy on Saturday will pick up his 26th winners medal for Celtic, beating the total of another Lisbon Lion Bobby Lennox and he’s looking for a goal this season match the Maestro Paul McStay.
That’s a fair indication of where James Forrest is in the overall Celtic story. Judge him by the company he keeps. He’s a legend and one of the greatest ever Celts.
Enjoy the game tonight folks. COYBIG and in particular come on Jamesy!
