Juventus and Inter Milan brothers Marcus and Khephren Thuram will meet on the pitch on Saturday for just the fourth time.
The French duo have played against each other just three times before and all for brief moments.
In today’s edition of Italian newspaper La Repubblica, via FcInterNews, they took a closer look at the head-to-head and family history.
The Thuram brothers come from a famous footballing family.
Their father, Lilian, played 144 times for Juventus in Serie A and 142 times for the French national team.
However, the reports reveal Thuram snr. tried to steer his sons to other sports but their passion for football prevailed.
Inter forward Marcus Thuram played once for Barcelona’s school-team as a defender, before his father forbid him from playing in defence again.
The two brothers first played against each other in 2019.
They were involved in 45 minutes of a Ligue 1 match between Guingamp and Monaco.
Since both players moved to Italy, they have been on the same pitch for just 19 minutes across two games.
Furthermore, despite both receiving France call-ups, they are yet to play on the same team.
