Lazio face Sergi Dominguez fight with Tottenham as price soars

Lazio face competition from Tottenham Hotspur for Dinamo Zagreb defender Sergi Dominguez, claims Sportitalia transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà.

The centre-back just celebrated his 21^st birthday last month and has represented Spain at various youth levels.

A product of the Barcelona youth academy, he was sold to Dinamo Zagreb last summer at a cost of €1.2m.

He made 41 competitive appearances this season, also contributing two goals and four assists from defence.

Lazio want Sergi Dominguez

It is reported that Lazio have been tracking Sergi Dominguez for a while and were readying an offer worth circa €5m after intensive talks with the player’s entourage.

However, with Spurs entering the fray, that price tag is already soaring and likely to be well beyond Lazio’s capabilities.

The Aquile are set to reboot their squad for incoming coach Gennaro Gattuso, as Maurizio Sarri has walked away for a new adventure with Atalanta.

Their transfer strategy is up in the air, with Alessio Romagnoli and Mario Gila seemingly eager for a departure.
