Lionel Messi of Inter Miami CF is currently in his fourth year in MLS. Messi took the American soccer world by storm after signing with Inter Miami for an MLS-record salary ( north of $50 million annually) in 2023.
The pay rate is not the only record the Argentinian superstar has broken. In a May 4 game against the New York Red Bulls in 2024, Messi set an MLS single-game record for assists with five and, by scoring a goal, also set the single-game record for goal contributions with six. The 38-year-old winger made history by becoming the first player to win back-to-back MLS Most Valuable Player awards (2024-25).
On Sunday, Messi appeared to injure his hamstring during Inter Miami’s final match before the World Cup in a 6-4 victory over the Philadelphia Union. With a diagnosis of “muscular overload” revealed Monday, Messi has a few weeks to recover before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As the soccer world awaits his availability for the World Cup, the 2025 MLS Cup champion has revealed a new career move.
On Tuesday, Messi took to social media to announce a new collection in collaboration with Stanley 1913, the drinkware and gear company. In an Instagram post, Messi revealed the latest collection, posting a graphic of the assortment of bottles, tumblers, jugs and even straws. The collection is promoted in gold, with fans able to customize the color for most of the collection on the Stanley website.
“Hecha para brillar bajo las luces más intensas,” Messi wrote in the Instagram caption. “La colección Messi x Stanley 1913 ya está disponible ... Made to shine under the brightest lights. The Messi x Stanley 1913 collection is available now.”
If available, Messi will represent Argentina at the 2026 World Cup, with the first match against Algeria taking place Tuesday, June 16, at 9 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium.
