Liverpool are keen on signing £58m-rated star striker Benjamin Sesko from Red Bull Leipzig in the summer transfer window. The Reds are exploring a deal for the highly rated forward, but they are not the only ones in the race for signing the 21-year-old.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are also among the runners to get the signature of the Slovenia international. Although it is believed that the two London clubs are leading the chase, Liverpool are not willing to give up as they are aiming to strengthen their already formidable attack line.
Benjamin Sesko has a release clause of around £58 million inserted into his RB Leipzig contract. But TBR Football reports that the German club will allow their star striker find a new club in the summer for less money, as long as it is financially viable for them.
Liverpool have already signed a number of players from RB Leipzig over the years. The Reds are also said to have a good relationship with the German club. Key players like Dominik Szoboszlai and Ibrahima Konate have been signed from the Bundesliga team and have gone on to have a successful career in Merseyside.
Liverpool are in the market for a striker because it is looking very likely that Darwin Nunez might be heading towards the exit door and Diogo Jota is inconsistent. The Reds are enjoying a memorable campaign under Arne Slot and are the clear favourites to win the Premier League.
Liverpool will be keen to sign a prolific striker and Benjamin Sesko is just what the Reds are missing. The Slovenia international has been a key player for RB Leipzig and has thrived in the Bundesliga. He has featured in 23 games in the league this season, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in a struggling side.
The 21-year-old is exactly what a Liverpool No.9 should be…. A fast, two-footed, elite finisher. Benjamin Sesko ticks all those boxes and is the missing piece of Arne Slot’s team. Sesko was also termed as the next Erling Haaland by Bundesliga’s own website and is thought to have the same physical presence as the Manchester City star.
Benjamin Sesko likes to play on the shoulder of the last defender as well as make runs from wide to stretch the defence and allow his teammates to get on the end of a through ball.
The young striker has strong hold-up play as well, which is an attribute that Arne Slot prefers his strikers should have. A good aerial game and being explosive in counter-attacks makes him the ideal striker for Liverpool, as the Reds rely on crosses and counters a lot.
There is a lot going for Sesko in terms of a transfer to Liverpool. The Leipzig man feels like the perfect fit to propel Arne Slot’s project in the upwards direction and let’s wait and see if the Reds can land him ahead of next season.
