The bulk of the transfer budget has already gone towards Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, so United’s focus has shifted towards finding new clubs for players who are no longer part of their plans.

Five players were told not to report back for pre-season training this summer. Marcus Rashford was among them and has since moved to Barcelona on loan. That leaves Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia facing uncertain futures at the club.

Amorim hasn’t completely closed the door on any of them returning, but that will depend on whether they find moves away before the season starts. We’ll be keeping a close eye on what happens with these four over the coming weeks.

Man Utd discuss player swaps with Aston Villa and Chelsea

With August fast approaching, United are looking to move several players closer to the exit door.

The club has already been in contact with both Aston Villa and Chelsea about Garnacho’s situation.

According to The Independent, United have reached out because they’re interested in players like Nicolas Jackson and Ollie Watkins. Ineos is reportedly looking for creative ways to address multiple transfer challenges this summer.

Ruben Amorim still has a few positions he wants to strengthen before the season gets underway, including goalkeeper and a more athletic holding midfielder.

Chelsea have been monitoring Garnacho for some time, and it’s believed that the Argentine is keen to stay in the Premier League.

Now it comes down to agreeing on value. All three clubs need deals that fit their budgets and squad plans heading into the new season.

Chelsea set £30m valuation for Alejandro Garnacho

Earlier reports indicated United were looking for at least £40m for Garnacho this summer.

However, Chelsea have a lower valuation of the player, which could become a sticking point in negotiations.

Moving Garnacho would provide clear financial benefits for United, as any fee would be recorded as pure profit given his academy background.

The Independent also notes that Chelsea value Jackson at £80m and are not prepared to offer more than £30m for Garnacho.

It remains to be seen how firm United will stand on their valuation of Garnacho.

Most will consider Chelsea’s valuation of Garnacho as baffling, and it would suggest they aren’t seriously keen on signing the player. United’s valuation suggests he is already available at a cut price.
