Manchester United star officially joins Prostate United

Manchester United entered deadline day with several players still facing uncertain futures before the transfer window slammed shut.

Joshua Zirkzee appeared among the most likely senior departures after falling down the attacking pecking order.

The Dutchman has struggled to establish himself since arriving from Bologna and has been pushed further down the order by United’s attacking additions.

Fiorentina offered a €5 million loan fee with a €30 million option to buy, but Zirkzee rejected the proposed move.

Juventus have also shown interest, leaving his future among the situations to watch during the final hours of the window.

However, amid all the deadline-day speculation, a Manchester United star has now officially announced that they have joined Prostate United.

Manchester United midfielder officially joins Prostate United

Ella Toone has confirmed on Instagram that she has joined the Prostate United squad alongside her husband, Joe Bunney.

Prostate United is a fundraising initiative run by Prostate Cancer UK which brings football supporters together to raise money for lifesaving prostate cancer research.

Toone shared a picture alongside Bunney at a football ground, with both wearing Prostate United shirts.

The United Women midfielder explained that the cause has enormous personal significance after losing her father, Nick, to prostate cancer two years ago.

She wrote: “This cause means so much to me after losing my dad to the disease two years ago.”

Toone added that she was proud to join the squad alongside Bunney, who completed the challenge last year, before encouraging football supporters to get involved.

The announcement continues Toone’s work with the charity after she was officially unveiled as a Prostate Cancer UK ambassador earlier this year.

Toone and Bunney also recently celebrated a major personal milestone, with the United midfielder marrying the football coach this summer.

While deadline day is usually dominated by transfers, Toone used the occasion to put the spotlight on a cause considerably bigger than football.
