Marcus Rashford sends goodbye message to club

Marcus Rashford is preparing for the upcoming season as he looks to build his career further.

Coming off the back of the World Cup finals with England, where The Three Lions secured a third placed finish, Rashford’s future is uncertain.

Reports have previously suggested that Manchester United manager Michael Carrick wants the left-winger to return to Old Trafford for next season.

Alternative reports have revealed that other clubs are interested, however, including AS Roma and Fenerbahce.

Marcus Rashford rebuilt his career last season, scoring 14 goals in 49 appearances on loan at Barcelona across all competitions. He subsequently now faces a choice between staying at Manchester United or moving to another club once again.

The England international has now sent a clear indicator to the world with his latest Instagram post.

Taking to the social media platform, Rashford has posted a goodbye message to Barcelona supporters as he prepares for next season.

The post, featuring a picture of Rashford’s Barcelona shirt alongside a photo of him playing, was captioned: “I’m very grateful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and memorable experience.

“I’ve enjoyed every moment and will take many special memories with me.

“I wish the club and all its supporters the very best of luck and every success in the season ahead.

“Visca el Barça.”

Rashford’s post has helped to provide more clarity to his situation whilst subsequently ruling out a return to Barcelona, a possibility that had appeared likely just a couple of months ago.

Manchester United face Atletico Madrid on Saturday, where the English international could feature for the first time since finishing his loan spell at Barcelona.

It remains to be seen what Michael Carrick’s full plans for the 28-year-old are as the season continues to get closer.
