Inter President Beppe Marotta puts an end to the Galatasaray speculation by assuring Hakan Calhanoglu ‘is our player in every way and called up for pre-season.’

The midfielder had not disguised his eagerness for a move to the Turkish Super Lig and the club he has always supported since childhood.

However, the offer on the table was nowhere near to the asking price and talks were quickly abandoned.

Inter confident Calhanoglu saga is over

As he was leaving the Lega Serie A meeting this afternoon, Inter President Marotta spoke to reporters and was asked about the Calhanoglu situation.

“He is our player in every way and he is called up for pre-season,” said the chief.

It will also be the first time that the midfielder and Lautaro Martinez have been together since the row that erupted over this desire to leave during the FIFA Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, Marotta also confirmed the imminent transfer of striker Valentin Carboni to Genoa on a one-season loan.

“He is ours and will go to Genoa, the right destination with a fine coach like Patrick Vieira. When it comes to Sebastiano Esposito, we will see.”

The Inter chief also shrugged off questions about Parma defender Giovanni Leoni, who has been given a €40m price-tag.

“He is a fine talent, but he is not ours.”
