Marco Sportiello has reached a full agreement with Atalanta, while Milan are finalising a deal to bring Pietro Terracciano from Fiorentina as Mike Maignan’s backup.
Milan are set to change their second-choice goalkeeper for the 2025-26 season.
As Football Italia already reported on Monday, Sportiello is set to return to Atalanta, signing a €1.3m-a-year deal until 2028.
Sportiello has already played for Atalanta across two spells, first from 2013 to January 2017 and then again from 2019 to 2023.
The 33-year-old has also played for Fiorentina and Frosinone in Serie A.
Milan will approve Sportiello’s transfer once they reach a complete agreement with Fiorentina keeper Terracciano.
The Italian is set to become Maignan’s backup at San Siro, signing a two-year deal.
Milan are on the verge of reaching an agreement with the second-choice Fiorentina keeper.
It will essentially be a free transfer from the Stadio Franchi, as Fiorentina has only demanded bonuses tied to Terracciano’s appearances with Milan.
