Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez is ready for the Champions League final against PSG despite not playing against Como.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez did not take to the pitch in yesterday’s Serie A season-ender against Como.

This despite the fact that the Argentine had returned to the Nerazzurri squad after a couple matches out.

Reports before the match had suggested that Martinez would make a late cameo.

The idea would be for the 27-year-old to get a run-out, and gain some crucial minutes in his legs ahead of the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain next weekend.

Lautaro Martinez Ready For UCL Final Vs PSG Despite Not Appearing Vs Como

It was therefore something of a surprise that Lautaro Martinez did not take to the pitch at all against Como yesterday.

Moreover, the Gazzetta note, the Inter captain did not even start warming up at all.

Therefore, some worries about Martinez’s fitness have naturally emerged.

However, after the match, Inter assistant coach Massimiliano Farris assured that there were no issues.

Farris insisted that the plan had only been to use Martinez in the event that the team really needed him.

With Inter firmly in control against ten-man Como – and Napoli also comfortably winning their own match against Cagliari – there was little reason to risk Martinez.

Therefore, the 27-year-old remained on the bench for Inter.

Nevertheless, reports the Gazzetta, Martinez has fully recovered from the thigh flexor problem that he had been dealing with after Inter’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.

Therefore, the newspaper anticipate, there is no doubt. Lautaro Martinez will be ready for the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain next weekend.
