Inter will meet with Simone Inzaghi on Tuesday to discuss the offer from Al-Hilal, but it’s reported even within the club, not everyone wants to keep the coach.
Inzaghi is still under contract and was expected to sign an extension to June 2028 until events over the past few weeks changed the situation.
The first was a huge proposal from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, said to be worth €30m per season including bonuses, making him the highest-paid tactician in the world.
The other was the 5-0 Champions League Final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, which meant they ended the season empty-handed for the first time in his tenure.
President Beppe Marotta has said many times, including after that loss in Munich, that he wants Inzaghi to stay and sign a new deal.
However, Calciomercato.it claim that director of sport Piero Ausilio does not agree with this and feels the time has come for a change of direction with a new coach.
Tomorrow’s meeting is going to be absolutely crucial and it is entirely possible Inzaghi will leave before the Club World Cup kicks off in mid-June.
