The challenge ahead of Vitor Reis and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is to establish themselves as first-team regulars at Girona and Celtic, respectively. If they can do that it will give them both the opportunity to grow as players next season.
But with Simpson-Pusey’s loan move confirmed, and Vitor Reis set to join Girona they should get the opportunities to play that they need. Those opportunities are unlikely to come at Manchester City next season. Now both players have the opportunities they need. If they can seize the opportunity in front of them it will set them up for the future.
Manchester City will hope that Vitor Reis and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey develop next season. If they do, it will set them up for a career at City. Vitor Reis looks to be the future of City’s defence. Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is a talented young centre-back who is forgotten at times. But he has the talent and potential to grow into a valuable City player. How both players perform will be of great interest throughout the new season.
