Oliver Glasner keen on continuing his project at Crystal Palace amid Tottenham links

Ange Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham is still uncertain. The Australian has ended the North London club’s 17-year wait for a major trophy this season, but it is still possible that the 59-year-old will depart N17 once the season draws to an end. The Lilywhites have endured a disastrous domestic campaign, and that is why Big Ange is still facing the heat at Hotspur Way.

It was reported earlier that Daniel Levy would sack Ange Postecoglou once the season ended, irrespective of the outcome in the Europa League final. If that still stands true, then the Lilywhites must make sure that a quality replacement is ready to take-over the reigns at the North London club for next season.

Spurs are facing a massive overhaul in the summer. And this is not the time for the Lilywhites to get complacent and take the foot off the peddle. Daniel Levy must get the managerial decision right if the club wants to build on the Europa League success and close the gap on their rivals next season.

Tottenham suffer blow in their pursuit of Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner

It is an open secret that Tottenham are looking to replace Ange Postecoglou in the summer. The Lilywhites have already shortlisted a few managers that could kickstart a new era at the club and build on the Europa League success next season. It was reported earlier that Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner was one of the leading candidates to replace Ange Postecoglou at the helm at N17.

However, Spurs have been dealt with a massive blow in their pursuit of the Austrian manager. When asked about the Tottenham links in his pre-match presser, Oliver Glasner said (as transcribed by Football.london),

“I have just been talking about the future, and what we are planning, so I am 100 per cent committed to those plans. I have no thoughts about something different. I have no influence on all the rumours. I don’t really care. I always try to focus on the things I can influence. I have one more year left, and now we are speaking about next season. Everything that happens after July 1 2026 we don’t talk about this at the moment. It is too far away.”

Oliver Glasner suggested that he is “100%” committed to Crystal Palace and the Austrian is planning for the future at Selhurst Park. The ex-Frankfurt manager also insisted that he has no influence on the rumours linking him to Tottenham and he is focused on continuing his project with the Eagles next season. Glasner added that he has a year left in his contract and everything would happen after that.

Now, Daniel Levy will need to switch his focus on other potential targets if he decides to sack Ange Postecoglou. It was reported earlier last week that the Lilywhites were also interested in signing former Ajax boss Francesco Farioli in the summer. The aforementioned report also added that Levy has been an admirer of the Italian’ work and believes he would be an ideal candidate to kickstart a new era at N17.
