Last month, Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi confidently said he was convinced superstar forward Kylian Mbappe will remain with the Ligue 1 side even though Mbappe's contract expires in 2022, he hasn't signed an extension and he's consistently been linked with giants such as Real Madrid in transfer rumors.
In what PSG would likely say is an unrelated development, the club announced Friday it signed 15-year-old Ethan Mbappe, Kylian's younger brother, to a three-year youth contract that runs through 2024.
Fellow prospect Senny Mayulu also put pen to paper on a three-year agreement.
"Born in 2006, these promising youngsters had until now been playing in the Paris St. Germain youth set-up. They are now tied to the club from the capital for three seasons," the club said in a statement shared by Reuters (h/t ESPN).
In May, Brazilian playmaker Neymar renewed with PSG through 2026 and admitted at that time he's "learned a lot" during his stint with the club.
"Things have happened that should not have happened," he said in a statement. "We had fights, a few sad times, but overall, the evolution has been very positive. I am happy, I am proud to be part of the history of Paris Saint-Germain."
