Patrice Evra is one of the most well-known players to play for Manchester United, with him succeeding heavily in his spell at the club.
The left-back, who joined Manchester United in 2006, made over 200 appearances for the club across eight years before leaving in 2014.
During this spell, the defender won five Premier League titles, three Football League Cups, four FA Community Shields, a UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, following his spell at Old Trafford, he moved to Juventus before moving to Marseille and then West Ham United, where Evra would go onto retire.
Since retiring from playing, the 42-year-old has been active in several paths with him signing a new deal in the United Arab of Emirates whilst also moving into fantasy sports.
As well as this, the former Manchester United player also joined KSI and the Sidemen.
Now, in an interview with The Telegraph, Patrice Evra has opened up about his interest in MMA, with him stating: “I grew up watching Bruce Lee movies and I did some kickboxing when I was a kid.
“I was really intrigued about stepping into the octagon and facing your opponent. Feeling the fear of taking a punch in your face – or not fearing it.
“It’s difficult to explain.
“People would say it’s violence but actually MMA is a chase game. It’s all about technique and the way you grab your opponent. It’s not about power.
“One training session of MMA is like playing 90 minutes of football.”
With Patrice Evra now opening up on his interest in MMA, it is clear to see his intrigue.
Furthermore, had he not gone down the path of football, it appears likely that he may have explored a career in the sport of MMA instead.
