Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur meet at the Molineux Stadium this afternoon for what will ultimately be a game all about Tottenham’s future. Wolves are 20th — They sit deep in the pole position of relegation trouble. Wolves have already been mathematically relegated after a dismal season, which sees them at the bottom of the table with around 17 points from 33 games. They have little to play for beyond pride and spoiling others’ survival hopes.

Whilst we have more points, we’re completely unreliable. Wolves have won twice in their last 6, and we’ve won none. Worse yet, Spurs haven’t beaten this lot in their last 6 meetings. We sit in the relegation zone and remain winless in the league throughout 2026 under manager Roberto De Zerbi. This is effectively a “must-win” for Spurs if they want to keep survival hopes alive with a handful of games left.

Plausible XI: Kinsky (GK); Porro, Danso, Van de Ven, Spence; Bissouma, Bentancur; attacking options like Kolo Muani, Gallagher, Xavi Simons; Dominic Solanke. Both teams have significant defensive vulnerabilities and injury concerns, which points toward an open, error-prone game.

Expect goals and tension: Wolves could frustrate or surprise Spurs at home, but Tottenham’s need for points might edge it in a scrappy affair. A 2-2 draw or a 1-2 Tottenham win feels plausible. Watch for set-pieces and individual errors to decide it.

Spurs showed a lot more energy last time out, and this ought to give fans hope for a more invigorated performance this afternoon.
