The Colorado Rapids acquired forward Dante Sealy from CF Montreal on Tuesday in exchange for up to $2.5 million in general allocation money.

Montreal will receive $1.9 million in guaranteed GAM -- $1.15 million in 2026 and $750,000 in 2027 -- plus up to an additional $600,000 if certain performance-based incentives are reached.

"We are excited to bring a talent like Dante into our current group," Rapids president Padraig Smith said. "His experience within the league and in Europe combined with a clinical eye for goal and strong athletic profile will add greatly to our attacking group."

Sealy, 22, tallied nine goals and two assists in 30 MLS matches (28 starts) in his lone season with Montreal in 2025. He finished strong with seven goal contributions (six goals, one assist) in his last nine games.

"Delighted to bring Dante in," new Rapids coach Matt Wells said. "He adds a new dimension to the squad with his ability to dominate in one v. one situations and he gives us left-footed balance in the front half of the pitch. We believe he will help us attack and press in different ways. In our conversations, I was very impressed with his drive and ambition -- he's the exact personality we want to bring into the group."

Sealy recorded two goals and one assist in 38 matches (11 starts) with FC Dallas from 2020-24. He also spent time on loan in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven's reserve team.
