Today is pay day for Real Madrid as they look to build revenues amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Los Blancos have dealt well with the financial crisis caused by the pandemic, spending conservatively and making a profit even with no fans.

But as Florentino Perez has pointed out numerous times in the wake of the Super League saga, Real Madrid still need more money.

Kylian Mbappe might be one reason why, but nevertheless, revenues earned from supporters are very important to Los Blancos.

And it’s something that have not been able to receive over the last year or so due to the pandemic and the subsequent restrictions.

But today was the day fans had to pay for their season tickets for the current season, with prices remaining the same from the 2019/20 campaign, the last season they were able to see.

Prices for the La Liga and Champions League season ticket ranged from €456 to €2,127, while the La Liga-only season ticket was available for between €336 and 1,210.

As noted by Mundo Deportivo, today is an important one for Real Madrid with season ticket holder payments representing 20% of the club’s current budget.

Los Blancos have in excess of 60,000 season ticket holders at last count.
