Despite drawing inquiries from Inter Milan and Liverpool, Giovanni Leoni reportedly wants to remain at Parma for another year.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the prodigious defender believes it would be in his best interest to stay put.

Widely considered among the brightest European prospects, Giovanni Leoni has a bright future ahead of him.

Indeed, Inter Milan and Liverpool have already entered a transfer tug-of-war to lure him away from Ennio Tardini.

However, the 18-year-old seems to have other plans.

Inter Milan Target Giovanni Leoni Keen to Stay at Parma for Another Season

Leoni established himself as a regular starter in the second half of last season under Cristian Chivu.

However, the Romanian coach left Tardini to take charge of Inter earlier this summer.

Furthermore, Chivu was hopeful of reuniting with the Italian starlet at San Siro.

Unfortunately, that has proved easier said than done.

In addition to Parma’s prohibitive €40 million asking price, Liverpool are eager to add Leoni to their star-studded squad.

Now, another obstacle has emerged, with the youngster keen to continue his development at Parma.
