Serie A runners-up Inter Milan are reportedly firm on a €50 million ceiling in their pursuit of Ademola Lookman.
According to Corriere di Bergamo via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri have contacted the player’s entourage to accelerate talks.
In contrast to yesterday’s report, La Dea have yet to name their price.
There was a genuine belief that they would sell Lookman for around €50 million.
However, after sanctioning Mateo Retegui’s transfer, they may increase their asking price for the Nigerian.
Atalanta rejected Inter’s €45 million bid earlier in August. Furthermore, talks between the clubs have since fizzled.
Yet, the San Siro giants have not given up on their pursuit of the 27-year-old forward.
Indeed, Ademola Lookman has agreed on personal terms with the Nerazzurri, putting them in a decent bargaining position.
Despite that, Inter will not surpass the €50 million mark.
Given Atalanta’s attempt to drive a hard bargain, it would be unsurprising if Inter soon turn to other targets.
