Roma set Manu Kone transfer deadline

Manchester United’s pursuit of Manu Kone continues to take new twists with new information helping to show whether the midfielder will make the switch to Old Trafford this summer.

Kone, 25, who played for France at the recent World Cup finals in North America, was linked with a move to United in the late stages of 2025 although no official move materialized.

Reports linking the two parties re-emerged in the last few weeks with the Red Devils preparing an offer worth €50m whilst Atletico Madrid saw a bid of €40m rejected by Roma.

Alternative reports have suggested that Manchester United reached an agreement in principle for Manu Kone although the player’s hope that PSG will call has put an element of doubt into the situation.

Roma have now set their deadline for the deal with Corriere dello Sport reporting that the Italian club would like to have a deal completed by 31st July, next Friday, to confirm to a parameters agreement with UEFA.

The outlet have also confirmed that Manchester United are closely monitoring the midfielder but are moving extremely slowly in their pursuit of the French international.

Corriere dello Sport have also relayed information that United have not put forward an official bid for Kone yet with Roma waiting for the first move.

Manchester United’s reluctance to move in this situation may be a signal of extreme caution whilst subsequently showing the club’s careful and decisive transfer plan in full movement.

United’s interest is clear to see and it currently looks like a matter of time before all parties reach an agreement that would see Kone make the switch to Old Trafford.
