Ruben Amorim interested in second Manchester United star

Manchester United’s squad has attracted significant attention from clubs across Europe this summer, with several first-team players linked with moves away from Old Trafford.

Despite Michael Carrick strengthening his attacking options, interest in some of his existing stars has shown no signs of slowing down as the transfer window progresses.

AC Milan have already been credited with interest in defender Noussair Mazraoui, with Ruben Amorim reportedly keen to reunite with another player he admires.

Meanwhile, Saudi giants Al-Hilal have also been monitoring one of United’s brightest attacking talents as they continue searching for marquee additions.

Even so, the player recently returned to Carrington after an extended break following his World Cup campaign and appears firmly in United’s plans for the new season.

AC Milan interested in Manchester United star

According to Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan have now explored the possibility of signing Amad Diallo as Amorim searches for reinforcements on the left side of his attack.

The Rossoneri had initially prioritised a move for Genk youngster Konstantinos Karetsas, but Borussia Dortmund won that race after agreeing a deal worth £27.4 million upfront plus achievable add-ons.

Missing out on Karetsas has forced Milan to consider alternative targets, with Amad Diallo emerging as one of the names admired by the Serie A giants.

However, the report adds that the Manchester United winger’s price tag is currently viewed as too expensive, making any deal difficult to complete.

It marks the second United player Amorim has reportedly looked at this summer after recent claims that Milan opened discussions through intermediaries regarding Mazraoui.

Amad’s future has also attracted attention from Saudi Arabia, with Al-Hilal believed to have the Ivory Coast international on their shortlist.

Despite the growing interest, a departure does not appear likely.

The 23-year-old has already rejoined Manchester United following his World Cup exploits and is expected to battle Bryan Mbeumo for the starting right-wing position heading into the 2026/27 campaign.

Although Amad found opportunities harder to come by under Michael Carrick during the latter stages of last season, he reminded everyone of his quality on the international stage.

Representing Ivory Coast at the World Cup, the winger scored twice and was among his country’s standout players, reinforcing why Manchester United remain reluctant to entertain offers.

With competition for places increasing at Old Trafford, Carrick appears set to keep faith in Amad rather than cashing in, despite growing interest from both Italy and Saudi Arabia.
