The Lilywhites view the Sweden international as one of the best forwards in the world and want to try and bring him to N17 in the summer. But former Tottenham scout Bryan King believes Spurs will face intense competition for the 26-year-old’s signature. Speaking to Tottenham News, King said,

“I think Tottenham could compete with Arsenal for a player such as this. It would be surprising if he doesn’t end up at Manchester United, given his connection with Ruben Amorim. This is a player who has scored a lot of goals in Portugal and England. Therefore, if Tottenham want to sign him, they will face serious competition.”

Bryan King suggested that Tottenham will need to fend off competition from Arsenal and Manchester United for Gyokeres’ signature. The former Spurs scout also added that United might win the race to sign the prolific striker due to the past connection between Ruben Amorim and Gyokeres.

If Tottenham manage to land the 26-year-old in the summer, then it will surely be considered as one of the best deals done by the club in a long time. Signing Viktor Gyokeres would mean that Dominic Solanke would get displaced from the starting eleven in no time. The Sweden international has proved his worth in Portugal, as well as, in the Champions League this season.
